Sprint ST. It was on the way back from Deal's Gap it became quite
obvious. Once RPM's dropped below about 3k the tack and speedo needles
dropped to zero. Motor kept running though. At the last gas stop I had
to bump start it to get going again. The battery had enough juice to
run the ECU, but not enough to turn it over. The dealer diagnosed, and
replaced the rotor under warrenty, along with the battery.

Sounds alot like the classic VFR regulator/rectifier problems... do we
have one
of those? (shop manual is a little out of reach)

Sorry Bill, I'm on digest so this has probably already been answered,
but yes we do. As a matter of fact, I have another electrical to
report. I forgot about it. About 2 years ago I'd get this weird
dipping of the headlights and dash lights at night. Never completely
out, but still, concerning. It got even odder when the needles of the
dials would go haywire at random moments. I did replace the
reg/rectifier. Hasn't happened since.
