About freight and set-up.  It was my parents experience with the Euro
companies that usually there was a flat freight rate charged to them as a
dealer by the importer.  In BMW's case it was flat rate no mater what, you
could show up in your own truck and the would still charge you for shipping.
As for set up that is the dealers mechanics time to assemble and make the
bike road worthy, another thing that was not re-emburable by the
manufacturer.  Now things may have changed since they were last a dealer,
1986, but I believe the freight and set-up as a scam comes from those "get
a better deal on a CAR" articles printed because the auto dealers are more
notorious for gouging where they can.  If you saw how little margin there
usually is in motorcycle pricing you would wonder how some of our favorite
dealers stay open.
