[ST] Re: st-digest V2001 #426

"If you want to get a flip up, that's fine, but don't delude yourself
into thinking that its as safe as the Arai you're
currently wearing."

According to the company line, the Concept helmet was not submitted to
Snell for approval because Snell approves helmets for racing, and the
Concept is not intended for racing. Schuberth makes other helmets that
are, and if they're good enough for Michael Schumacher, they're good
enough for me. The Schuberth Concept helmets also pass infinitely more
stringent CE and TUV regulations, which many flip-up helmets don't.
Your point is well taken that a full face is better on impact than a
flip-up, but I think the odds of being seriously injured by an EMT
removing your helmet to restore you airway at least equal, if not
greatly outway, those of a lock mechanism failure.
I entend to get some information on this from Schuberth and I'll post
whatever info I get in reply.
