RE: [ST] tyre prep

I do what Dave does, nothing that is. I'd be more afraid of the solvent
degrading the rubber or not washing off the detergent residue. It seems to
me that the solvent and/or the detergent are going to be way more slickery
than any mold release compound. On a related but different note, for slicks
on the track I typically just go easy for the first lap and then start
kicking it up and am usually at full tilt by the 3rd lap or so. IMHO there's
too much witchy stuff attributed to new tires. Sure they're a bit different
but not enough so to warrant any thing other than a little forethought.

good
wipe and follow up with some washing up detergent to remove all residue.
Thoroughly dry the tyres and then go out riding. Take it easy for the first
100
miles and twisties & you will never have any problems.

I do nothing but torque the axle bolts with new tires.
The are always fine after 100 miles.
