I always run 87 unless I am going on a trip and then I run 89 and the bike
runs great and my mileage is always in the high 40's

For what it's worth:  Triumph Motorcycles (NA) in Newnan, GA puts
regular unleaded in the demo and other bikes they operate.  They are
probably too busy to figure out all that math and the bikes seem to run
just fine.
