New list member

Dear ST/RS List Members [ or should I say STrideRS? :-)],

I´d like to introduce myself as a new list member. My name is Thomas, I live
in Germany, about 60 km northeast of Munich. I´ve just ordered a brand new
Triumph Sprint RS (racing yellow). Probably I will get the new bike end of
March - just in time for the new season over here in Germany. But that means
another six weeks to wait... :-(

But fortunately Eric has installed his great Triumph website and this
wonderful ST/RS mailing list - thank you very much, Eric! I think it will
make waiting a lot easier!

As a total newcomer to Triumph motorcycles (had KTM GS400, Honda CB750K6,
Yamaha XS650, Yamaha XJ900, BMW R100R before) I certainly have a lot of
questions for you Triumph experienced guys, for example (sorry Eric and
Jonathan - I know, I`ve asked you the same questions already):

My Triumph dealer has offered me a lot of accessories for the Sprint RS. Now
I´m not sure what to choose and what to skip.

I will definitely go for:
- - Heated Grips
- - Master Cylinder Cover (Carbon) for Rear Brake Master Cylinder
- - Centre Stand
- - Auxiliary Power Plug

I´m thinking about the following stuff:
- - Tank Pad (Carbon)
- - Rear Hugger
- - Rear Mudguard Extension
- - Front Mudguard Extension
- - Grab Rail
- - Triumph Sports Throw-over Panniers with Panel Protectors
- - Triumph Tank bag

What do you think - which of these accessories make really sense and which
are a waste of money? The Triumph Soft Panniers for example are very
expensive, but they fit the Sprint RS obviously perfectly (and have a panel
protector) - but similar bags from a different brand cost less than 50% ...
The same is true for the tank bag...
What about the hugger and the mudguard extensions? Do they spoil the look of
the bike? Is it good to have them? What about Tank Pad and Grab Rail?

Thank you very much for your ideas, answers and comments!

Sorry for this long letter, but I´ve just too many questions!

Ride Safe

Thomas
