[ST] Battery Tender

Hi All,
Regarding the recent discussions/questions concerning the Battery Tender
and using the Sprint's accessory socket as a means to connect the battery
charger to the bike. When I ordered my Battery Tender, I was advised that the
optional 'cigarette lighter' style adapter they offered would not fit the
Sprint accessory socket. It is a standard automotive style (sized)
cigar/cigarette plug, which has too large a diameter to fit the accessory
socket.

It was suggested by the manufacturer that I use the included piece which
'hardwires' to your battery terminals on one end, and has a pigtail with a
SAE connector on the other. This is what I used. I ran the SAE connector end
(it's long enough) down to the area just behind the operator's right
footpeg, where you find the rear brake light switch and master cylinder. It
comes with an attached cover and appears relativrly weather tight when not
in use. I simply make the connection to the SAE connector on the Battery
Tender.

Just as easy in my estimation as using the accessory plug, and you really
don't notice the SAE connector on the bike.

 My two cents worth, Bill
