This is not new to BMW. I used to have K series RS models before switching to
the Triumph marque. Now the K1100RS was a fabulous bike, probably the best
they ever made... and then they made the K1200RS. I was unfortunate enough to
own one, whilst the motor and frame were magic the brakes, lighting, electrics
and general 'cycle parts' had plunged in quality. I remember being on a list
like this for the K1200RS and the brakes issue made it to BMW HQ in the form of
a petition. BMW took the 'head in the sand approach', after I sold the thing I
noticed they adopted a servo assist for the brakes, which was overkill.
Getting out-braked by an old shitbox Volvo was enough for me, If the Germans
want to play games with peoples lives then I'm outa there. It would take a lot
for me to be tempted back to BMW, maybe if they started making the K1100RS
again...
