I don't follow or really know diddly about racing. But I have been on moto
lists long enough to "absorb" that motogp is explicitly _not_ about racing
stock configurations. In fact I believe there are even rules disallowing
anything that is sold stock from being used.
I realize things tend to trickle down.. ie: technologies developed for
motogp do eventually show up on the street (viz Ducati). But you don't
take a street bike and tune it up for Motogp.
So I don't know why anyone would expect to see K or R technology, or their
Rotax based stuff in motogp.
If BMW were to get into Motogp it would probably be good for them. Their
cars have this great reputation for high performance. Their bikes do not
have the same reputation. They could create that reputation with an all
new platform...which is exactly what they are required to develop for
motogp.
