Phew - you had me worried there ;-)

Having a broke bike can really cause the old blood pressure to rise,
especially when things like basic customer service seem to be absent from
the equation. (Don't get me started about my last Harley, that spent so
much time in the shop when I first got it, that it had its own service
bay....)

So far it seems like parts and service from the Triumph corporate side seem
to be causing most of the headaches and you would think that they would be
the easiest spots for Triumph to fix as they are in house. It can be a real
tug of war trying to get a dealer to come around when they are not giving
the platinum level of service - takes a lot of finessing, because after all
it is their business (and "they've be doing business the same way for 25
years and they are still here ... " yada yada). But when you continue to
have problems at the corporate levels, consumer confidence can be quickly
eroded. Their parts and service departments both need a little shot in the
arm .....

On the other side of the coin though, do you know when your dealer ordered
the bag kit?. I recently had a conversation with a ST owner that was
experiencing a delay in getting his two bag pannier (not on this list).
After repeated excuses from the dealer, he called Triumph and found out
that the bags were actually ordered well after the dealer had taken his
order for them. And until that information was obtained, the dealer had
refused to take any responsibility for the problem......

Hopefully a lot of these problems are the result of the bikes being so
popular before the parts and service areas could catch up. I know that I
would much rather be riding the bike waiting for bags then the other way
around - or putting down a deposit last week with a June target date ......

Well, let us know if anything transpires today (and take care of that spleen!)
