I suspected so, but with my previous R1150GS needing a sort of fake
choke (handthrottle thingie) to tell it that the engine was cold
I figured that a primitive injection system might still have it....

Petrol smell from being flooded which can be because of no spark, or
because he used the throttle while starting. The electrical smell could
also be because he perhaps was cranking too long and got the starter
engine too warm? Just brainstorming...
